TMD and its Symptoms
TMD, or Temporomandibular Joint Disorder, is a painful, potentially debilitating disorder that occurs when an individual’s bite becomes misaligned. A misaligned bite is called malocclusion, and can cause a host of symptoms for the sufferer, requiring diagnosis and treatment through Neuromuscular Dentistry. Neuromuscular dentistry is a dental specialty that uses sophisticated testing methods to uncover the extent of the malocclusion and determine how to adjust the individual’s bite to the most relaxed position in an effort to alleviate the pain and discomfort. Symptoms of TMD can include:
